Design specification for Main Menu scene
Main menu objectives
The main menu aims to provide intuitive and engaging introduction for players to the game. Main menu sets the overall atmosphere and tone for the game visually. Players can easily navigate through different scenes and sections like settings.
Visual design
The theme of Cyber Terminal: Vayn is centered on cyber horror genres. Colors associated with Halloween mixed with neon cyber colors give an eerie dark atmosphere. Cyber Terminal color palette consists of purple, blue, and orange glowing elements against a dark background. For User Interface elements I chose to use large buttons with neon colors which are easily clickable. Background consists of elements that are related to horror and cyber hardware. Typography we used the same font style for both scene just to keep it simple and readable.
Navigation
The main menu scene is filled with buttons. The Play button starts the game and takes the player to the Vayn scene. Other buttons such as Kyub, Illumo and QT are scenes from other levels of the game which are not available as of yet. The credits button brings players to the credits page of the game. The settings button allows players to change game settings. While the help button brings players to a page where players find out the objectives of the game and how to play the game.
Button interaction
Buttons in this game change color when the player hovers their finger over. If the player clicks or presses that button the color changes indicating the selection.
Menu layout
Buttons are placed in the center and bottom of the screen so that they are evenly spaced not crowded when view from a mobile device.
Technical requirements
Cyber Terminal: Vayn is playable on all mobile devices Android and iOS.
Design specifications for Game scene
The game scene introduces players the world in which they will be playing in and they will also be introduced to Vayn, the main character of this game. Player can manipulate Vayn by growing and shrinking its size. They can also move it left and right while rotating it. Players can reset its position to its initial starting point and size.
Visual Design
Set inside a matrix it creates a cyber-technology atmosphere with a dark tone thanks to the horror elements inside the scene. Buttons change color when hovered on and when pressed. The main character is Vayn, a humanoid creature with a monitor for its head. Pumpkins are what Vayn must collect in this game before time runs out. Background is are cyber-matrix.
Navigations
Game controls are centered towards the bottom of the screen so that players have easy access to them while also not obstructing the view of the main character Vayn. Game buttons represents manipulation ability Vayn can execute.
